In the 'Community Girlblogging to Save The Internet,' we will explore how collaborative coding of HTML+CSS web pages can help us gain independence from Big Tech and rebuild community, from URL to IRL.

The workshop is led by mathematician and AI researcher Irma Mastenbroek.

Meet our keynote speaker: Jihad Van Puymbroeck. A Muslim woman of Moroccan and Belgian descent, she has been active in anti-racist civil society for more than ten years.

Van Puymbroeck is one of the civil parties in the lawsuit against Schild & Vrienden, a Flemish far-right youth movement that attacked her online. She won her case after a long agony. At Beyond Control she will tell her story and expose the depths of online racism.

As a result of the hearing held last February at the Royal Courts of London, judges granted permission to appeal against removal from the UK, but only if the US does not provide suitable assurances.

A decision that leaves him facing a further wait, with his future still unresolved.

“What the courts have done has been to invite a political intervention from the United States … send a letter saying ‘its all OK’,” Stella Assange said. “I find this astounding."
