For the fifth day in a row, [Turkey's auxiliary forces] are blocking access to humanitarian aid offered by the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria ["Rojava"] to the affected people in [Turkey-occupied] Idlib and Afrin. The denial of access to aid for those in need is recognized as a crime against humanity under international law, especially since thousands have died due to the lack of relief. We are committed to our humanitarian duties to alleviate the people's suffering in the affected areas. As a reminder, Turkey and these armed gangs have also been cutting off drinking water supplies to approximately 1.5 million people living in al-Hasaka [canton of Rojava] for a year now.

the many international banking transfer and contact details for the "Kurdish Red Crescent" (similar to the Red Cross/ICRC which unfortunately can NOT be used for this region unless one wants to support either Assad/Putin or Erdoğan) for those that want to help all the people hit by the devastating earthquakes in Bakur/Rojava Kurdistan, south/southeast Turkey and Turkey-occupied NW Syria on Monday.

ALF/HRE, the Afrin Liberation Forces, confirmed that the Tel Rifaat district of al-Shahba Canton in autonomous N&E Syria ("Rojava") was subjected to heavy bombardment from Turkey's forces last night, hours a̲f̲t̲e̲r̲ the devastating earthquake struck northern Kurdistan, Turkey and large parts of Syria.

The illegally invading Erdoğan-regime's war department claimed it was "in response" to an "attack" from a force that according to ALF/HRE isn't there, the People's Defense Units (YPG).

The ALF/HRE of course a̲r̲e̲ there, so would know, but also know that "our forces did not attack enemy bases".

More likely Turkey's forces wanted to take the opportunity of bombarding some of the many refugees that fled Turkey's illegal invasion and occupation of Afrîn, whilst the refugees were even less able to protect themselves due to the earthquake.

The government of Sweden is just astoundingly incompetent (or worse).
On pretext of the earthquake they just announced aid to the government of Turkey, which previously in similar situations has withheld the aid on obvious political and ethnic grounds.

Another 5 million will be sent to the Turkish Red Crescent and 2 million to the Syrian Red Crescent, both of which have a long and clear tradition of pro-govt partisanship, which includes notably "de-prioritizing" specifically the now earthquake hit areas, presumably on the same political and ethnic grounds.

They also base their actions on information from "Turkey's press" (=the regime) and on the Assad-regime's statistics. One can only assume the exclusion of several regions (those in Rojava) is because they have antiauthoritarian feminist ecological self-rule, principles the govt of Sweden has recently officially denounced.

Aid is great, really, but you've got to make sure you aim so it reaches those hit by the disaster, not aid the regimes that enabled the disaster to be so devastating, and are constant disasters.

Alle 4:17 di stanotte e nuovamente questa mattina attorno alle 11.30 due scosse di terremoto – 7.8 la prima, 7.5 la seconda – hanno colpito Turchia, Libano e Siria.

Sono decine le città colpite, centinaia gli edifici ridotti in macerie. Si stima che le vittime siano, al momento, oltre 1.500.
