the malcolm x and dr betty shabazz center in harlem

books - nyc public library, or housing works's book cafe (not at all similar, but both cool for different reasons)

"Treasures in the Trash", but think you need to find out if a tour is happening,... if it's still even there (been a while)

if the sun comes out: staten island ferry, little red lighthouse, riverside park (the whole thing, maybe on a citi bike!), roosevelt island tramway (cable car), lots of parks, high-line + coffees

@beka couple ideas:

not exactly "indoors", though you can sit inside: Staten Island Ferry is fun free way to see NYC from the water, plus if you get a little break in the rain, explore staten island for half an hour or so before taking the ferry back

if you want museum-type stuff: mcny.org is interesting city museum and has suggested admission donation policy, with under 19 suggested free (don't know ages of your group, but might be relevant)

@sehnsucht @samir Times are changing though. Been on a couple of #FreeBSD events now and more and more devs are using it on their laptops to a point where there are more FreeBSD machines than Macs. I still think that shipping X with the base install doesn't make much sense. Having a slim install and bootstrapping from there is more appealing to me, YMMV. I think of freebsd.org more like kernel.org it's not a distro but rather the foundation that can be used as a complete OS as well. :)

@thomasfuchs IBM Personal Computer Expansion Unit (with possibility of 2 x hard disks) The IBM Personal Computer only had floppy disks, so this unit increased the storage possibilities significantly.

sick kid

@annika it seems like a mesh bag of some sort + couple rounds in the laundry machine might do it?

@RiderOfGiraffes yes it seems to crawl the directory, and think you're also correct re: back-pointer

@RiderOfGiraffes if you know the inode, think "find -inum NNNNNNNN" should do it
