Yesterday I wrote about a nice, small and cheap weather station that uploads the data to Weather Underground (among other clouds). Today I discover that Wunderground (powered by IBM) is a total mess, like temperature changes like crazy while you zoom on a station on their Wundermap, or my station is reported as OFFLINE and ONLINE in two different panels. The Schroedinger's Cloud. Well since IBM is so deep into the Quantum Computing scam...
So, I found a way to catch the data locally and to send them to a local InfluxDB or anything you like as data storage.
Fuck the cloud, again, I guess?
Just trying a new small weather station that I'm planning to install in front of the sea on the south west coast of Sardinia. It seems well constructed (ok, it's not a Davis, but it costs as just the Davis' solar screen alone...), very easily configurable, it sends the data to Weather Underground or locally to yout server IP through WIFI. The only evident issue is the absence of the spikes to repel birds from the rain gauge... I'll have to improvise some DIY solution.

One of the most linked articles on Roger Federer on the day he decided to retire.
When David Foster Wallace decided to retire, it was a much uglier day, but we've been really lucky to be alive along with them.

I've got a phd in physics and dabble with complex systems, graphs, networks and optimization for a living. Currently trying to understand congestion in urban traffic.
