Listening to an audiobook biography of Elizabeth Taylor and we're in the 80s AIDS crisis years and damn.

1. Elizabeth Taylor was a boss bitch for being compassionate when so many others in entertainment turned their back to people impacted by AIDS. She used her fame to bring attention and funding to the research and care, and privately visited hospices to show love to patients.

2. Fuck the Reagans for so many reasons but especially for ignoring this terrible disease. Terrible humans 0/10.

3. I still get misty-eyed over how, growing up, AIDS was a death sentence and now I see ads about treatments that can result in undetectable viral loads. That's never not astonishing to me.

About the time of the 'Revolution' book, leftie friends were telling us to get Brand to interview us about our human origins theory (the one about women's sex-strike overthrowing dominant males, yeah LOL!). Bruce Parry had talked about it in some interview with him.

We went along to a very big socialist meeting where he was on a panel with a number of women speakers to watch because we thought his politics very flaky. We will never forget what we saw: Brand was persistently molesting the woman panellist next to him, through the meeting. This was apparently funny, quite a lot of the audience were laughing at the japes, but most certainly NOT the woman who was trying to speak. This was a white man pawing and groping a black woman live in public in front of hundreds. As if to say: I'm so big, I can get away with this!
#Predatory, #nonconsensual completely out of control, public assault. In fact an order of magnitude worse than the Rubiales incident.
