The government shouldn’t decide what truth is. Along with many other legislative victories in California this year, you helped us defeat a California bill on “fake news” that went too far in the fight against misinformation. https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2018/10/ten-legislative-victories-you-helped-us-win-california

« On a national scale, NotPetya was eating Ukraine’s computers alive. It would hit at least four hospitals in Kiev alone, six power companies, two airports, more than 22 Ukrainian banks, ATMs and card payment systems in retailers and transport, and practically every federal agency. “The government was dead,” summarizes Ukrainian minister of infrastructure Volodymyr Omelyan. »

FOSS licensing
re: FOSS licensing
For example, lets look at this Alpine Linux bug.
Quoting that bug:
To make this topic somewhat more urgent, I’ve received a mail from my contact at Microsoft asking for permission to publicly announce it at Microsoft Ignite in Orlando on September 28th.
This means Microsoft want to announce that Alpine is now on the Windows Store.
Why would Microsoft care that one of the fastest growing distributions is now on Windows?
Because it helps them to advance the message and vision that Linux is now an “app” you download from the “Windows Store,” and run on Windows. The actual Linux OS itself no longer matters, Microsoft will provide that part for you.
Needless to say, I commented on that bug very strongly voicing my non-support, which will probably kill it since it’s somebody on core saying no.
But we need to do better, we need to design a license that allows us to fight back. WSL is the threat we face today, and it’s the one we need to deal with now.
The clock is ticking.
