violence and video games
people say that video games don't cause violence, and they're correct, yes, playing violent videogames does not nessesaily promote aggressive behavior... But like is anybody really gonna question, even for even a moment, that the racist guy who tried to shoot black protestors with a bow wasn't inspired to do so by video games and other media glorifying bows? Is anybody going to question that the black ops, camo aesthetic of right wing militias, with their guns and trucks and symbols, wasn't at least in part inspired by the matte black, desaturated "gritty reality of war" portrayed in modern Call of Duty games? Is anybody going to question that we glorify twitch-reaction skill, is anybody questioning that we revel in the headshot?
so yeah, video games don't cause violence, but maybe we're just asking the wrong question
