So, others have noted how Thrawn from Star Wars Ahsoka looks like Elon Musk, and presumably: that is intentional and deliberate.
Yet, I haven't seen anyone mention how he also looks an awful lot like a Gamilan from Space Battleship Yamato, and how could that not: also be intentional and deliberate? Star Wars has always ripped off Leiji Matsumoto (RIP) without attribution, and in decades, has never created ANYTHING as compelling, to me at least, as even the most mundane contributions from the Leijiverse.

Can you imagine them doing anything with a Lucas franchise? I can't. It would be beneath them. I'm not even a big Daft Punk fan tbh, but I'll never get enough of 松本零士「matsumoto leiji」I mean, sure, mostly because I am too poor to even come close to being a completionist to the 漫画家「mangaka」who started drawing when he was six and started making his own manga when he was 11 and moved to Tokyo to go pro at 18 and was 85 when he passed away earlier this year.
However, even if I were a billionaire or somehow lucked upon a complete collection of everything Matsumoto had created, how many years of MY life would it take to read and watch and translate? Probably more than I have left as a human on this Earth. Then again, most signs seem to indicate I am stuck in myriad rings of hell eternally, but being rings of Hell, again: no way they would let me have the complete works of Leiji Matsumoto on my income.
I'd have to like, upload my consciousness into a spaceship computer such as 大山トチロー「ōyama tochirō」in Space Pirate Captain Harlock, and I am not a transhumanist and think that the more I use computers, the more I think most humans do not do a very good job with them at all, let alone good enough for consciousness hosting.

Sadly, this is the first anniversary we're celebrating without the creator of Space Battleship Yamato and Galaxy Express 999, who passed away last March at 85.

Da vecchio appassionato di anime, la scomparsa di Leiji Matsumoto segna la tappa dell'allontanamento degli anni davanti alla TV di un altro passettino. Ma oltre a Harlock (avevo addirittura 2 Arcadia) e Galaxy Express 999, ricordiamo anche una delle ultime cose fatte, degli splendidi video per i Daft Punk, che ha portato alla creazione di Interstella 5555.
