Lately I find myself spending more time in my RSS reader and less time on Fedi. The lack of pressure to "engage" makes it so much less stressful. It's just a bunch of things that interest me that update when there is something new to read. I can leave something unread and it won't get buried in a timeline that scrolls by.
It's just really nice that not everything has to be social. Sometimes I just want to read things.

RSSGizmos.com has had some tool problems for a while, but I kept forgetting about it until @musiciankate gave me a nudge (thanks fam!) I've fixed some of them and the site works a lot better.
https://rssgizmos.com/ is a set of web tools for creating, finding, and exploring #RSS feeds. The site is free, ad-free, and designed for desktop.

@whitepaperkat most likely, yes. I read about your post from a #RSS bot I run on an #XMPP #MUC! Go figure :)

@blogdiva same here, Liza. Mastodon has become my only social media and pretty much only news. I use #flipboard and #RSS feeds to bring what I want here.

@mikebabcock Your prejudice has led you to assume #Apple coined the term “#podcast” to co-opt it.
In fact, the term pre-dates their support. Ben Hammersley coined the term “podcasting” while covering audio #blogging for The Guardian in early February 2004: https://www.theguardian.com/media/2004/feb/12/broadcasting.digitalmedia
It was subsequently adopted by the #RSS audioblogging community, including @adam. Apple only added direct iTunes support in late June 2005.
@SheDrivesMobility Es gibt immer noch #RSS.
