Jährlich am 1. Februar (jaja, das war gestern! ) wird der #RobinsonCrusoeTag zu Ehren der Romanfigur #RobinsonCrusoe und dessen realen Vorbild #AlexanderSelkirk gefeiert.

#NickFletcher, Conservative MP for the Don Valley since 2019, has just announced on the television programme #DailyPolitics that his constituents sent him to Parliament 'to keep our country #sovereign'.

Clearly not a political thinker [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nick_Fletcher_(politician)],
he is probably not alone in his party in believing this constitutional nonsense.

#RobinsonCrusoe was sovereign (his right there was none to dispute: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alexander_Selkirk). But once he met #ManFriday, he was living in community.

Found an illustrated edition of Robinson Crusoe published in 1863 at a local charity store in England and I can still read and experience it as intended by the typesetter and illustrator 160 years later*.

Will you be able to say the same thing of the things we publish on the web today?

* As intended aesthetically, that is, but otherwise through the critical lens of reading a book steeped in 18th century slavery and imperialism.

#IntrovertHangover is the feeling of exhaustion after spending too much time interacting with others. As an introvert, I also experience it after reading novels with lots of characters.

The solution is reading novels with minimum characters like #DanielDefoe's #RobinsonCrusoe

Any other suggestions?
