Just came up with this example while explaining to a friend why we should never allow power to concentrate, maybe it can be useful to you as well:

"power is like plutonium: if you put too much of it in one place, the chances of a devastating explosion (aka fascism) skyrocket. On the contrary, if you keep tiny specks of it in a thousand different places, it's easily contained, though still dangerous"

On the contrary, an aerosol of plutonium would be devastating and hard to contain, while a few sub-critical masses of it are easier to store safely.
