The image is a black and white photograph of two residential houses situated on a street. The house in the foreground has a prominent front porch with four posts supporting an overhang, adorned with decorative brackets under its eaves. A wooden railing extends along the side of the porch, leading to steps that ascend to the entrance door. On the upper right corner of this structure stands a chimney. I've seen this photo a few times and at least once with the same caption. It always stirs up questions. What does "must be hauled 35 miles" mean? The wood is cut to about 3' lengths. This seems WAY to large for practical home use. I think in the past I've seen the caption say something to the effect that this type of delivery was a regular occurrence in Portland. Anybody got any incite for me?
