This statement implies that fish farms were/are supposed to protect (??) wild salmon? That makes no sense. Fish farms were never established to protect anything except the profiteering of the owners.
The disastrous impact of fish farms on natural migratory pathways and the poisoning of truly >wild< salmon in Norway & Canada has been investigated and reported many times.
