On my run this morning a dog bit me and I'm disappointed and annoyed. I come across a lot of dogs while running, some off leash and some aggressive, but this is the first time one actually went for me. Nothing serious but it does hurt.

So annoyed I'm posting a beautiful pear blossom.

@grechaw
Do you have a tetanus shot and is it up-to-date (max 10 years)? If not, please go to the doctor and get one. Also a soon as it inflames. It can be really dangerous.
Fingers crossed!🤞

@Mr_GHARice yeah I do, fortunately. It did break skin but through my jacket so it doesn't seem warranted. Also, health care here sucks and it would take all day and an ED visit.

Thats bloody terrible 😢 but yes do get a shot as advised if needed ✅

@grechaw that’s not nice. I’m always really wary round dogs when running outside and usually I end up slowing right down and walking if I have to get near one.

@RHD Oh definitely! I actually exchange barks with this dog on occasion already. He is a big lab and wanders about on occasion. Usually he's standoffish, but there was a complication. A very small very old ornery dog, who ALWAYS is in that position harassing passers by (in a way that usually comes across as comic, not threatening) seemed to egg him on and provide him something to maybe defend? Anyway I gave him all hell and he backed off.

@grechaw Happened to me about 5 weeks ago! Mine was quite bad and needed a hospital trip.

@Andy Eeek I hope there were no lasting repercussions!

@grechaw It’s all good. Healing well and I’m running again.

@grechaw
I'm sorry that happened to you. A dog bit me too while I was walking through the park a few years ago, and it's still making me wary of dogs now. I hope you're better able to get back to petting and chatting with the vast majority of non-bitey dogs soon.

@aaron Thank you! I don't think I'll have that trouble -- the one who lives here is quite the good dog representative. Wary yes, I was thinking I know now what leather bracers are for :)
