I used to revelle in these new species being discovered. Amazing to see them, and wonderful that there is more out there that we've never known before.

Now I'm just filled with sadness at their (no) future and cynicism when thinking - great, discovered them just before we wipe them out with development/exploitation of their habitats and/or the 3C we keep actively working towards.
