lovelies, i might be employed again soon (fingers crossed)
anyone has experience with #DEEL (https://www.deel.com/) either as an employer or employee?
appreciated RTs for reach
oh, i see.
is this as an employee / someone being paid? what are they trying to up sell?
i would've thought most of that would be directed towards the payer
@wadus I was using a service that got bought by deel, and suddenly stuff that was once included in the service became paid upsells to deel stuff
what a time to be alive
@wadus My company uses Deel as my Employer Of Record. I haven't had any problems with getting paid on time or basics like that. They seem to know laws at least here in Oregon pretty well, too (they were able to figure out our state-level paid leave laws). In all honest Deel fades into the background for me, which is the best thing you could say about a company with their role.
I do wish they offered a wider range of health insurance options for my real employers to choose from -- the options are all pretty bad, at least in my experience.
Happy to answer any questions you have!
health insurance not an issue this side of the world, so not a stopper for me
thanks for sharing!
@wadus As someone who was just laid off, I wish you all the best in finding work!
Deel is in some hot water right now legally. They are being sued by competitor Rippling for corporate espionage, and are also being accused of enabling money-laundering and sanction-evasion in FL courts.
While I don't know you, and you don't know me, I'd hate to see someone get caught up in this if any of it turns out to be true.

ahhh a little corporate espionage, what's not to like.
and sorry to hear about your lay off. all the best, hopefully you'll find something good soon. fingers crossed!
