@rahmstorf yes, and people won't be able to insure themselves and their housing, prices will go up and unrest will lead to more wars.

@glynmoody Every once in a while when #climatechange has worsened again and the impacts become more catastrophical I Will post the #sai option again.

@susankayequinn @Shivviness for people following this discussion, I am not pro geo-engineering, I am pro #sai., which is one specific technique where the sun is blocked by Aerosols.
#sai is not without risk, but the impact when a responsable controlled implementation goes wrong is way less dangerous than the #climatechange scenario we are in right now which will impact 8 billion people. (1/4)

The arrogance of western scientists to not make #sai as safe as possible is a staggering mistake grounded in thinking of ten years ago. Science as constantly underestimated how fast #climatechange goes worse. (2/4)

There are #sai scientists doing work, but we need live experiments and we need lots of money to do that. So when we need this #sai handbrake we know how to use it as safely as possible.
And no, its not something I really want at all, I want that fairytail world too. But we need all the measures we can get to safe our world.

@susankayequinn @Shivviness the only thing on which #sai scientists have a say is on how much risk there is or is not toward what is in their scientific field. And not a millimeter more.
What I call religious is knowing you can safe people from suffering and not willing to do that because of a conviction you have. Not based on the scientific facts or proof, that is the stuff of science and is inter subjectieve. But your conviction to not even research it. (1/2)

I am appalled how scientist are as religious in their thinking like other people. The world does not abide to what you think is right and I want my children not living in a nightmare.

The only right comparison is the current impact of #climatechange versus the impact of #SAI. Not #SAI versus some religious version of what you thing should happen.
